 DNF at the 52% mark.

I usually don't DNF books; I give them a chance. The pacing of Blood of Zeus is slow for a short novel of 217 pages and the first of a series. I usually enjoy books based on Greek mythology, but you don't get the back story of both main characters, and I felt lost; even as a Greek, it was hard to pick up the book for now. It will be a soft DNF because I don't want to enter a reading slump if I continue reading this book.

This book was so good. It was passionate and emotional. I enjoyed the dynamic between Maximus & Kara. Their feelings toward each other, yet the hesitation due to their secrets is suspenseful. The storyline is original and kept the pages turning. Pretty sure I finished it in one sitting. I'm so looking forward to the next instalment and it's always nice to not have to wait for it to be released. I can't wait to see where their relationship is going to go and what sort of chaos and drama is going to ensue!!

Thank you to Meredith & Angel for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. It was such a treat to read!

Blood of Zeus by Meredith Wild and Angel Payne is a paranormal romance. This is the first book in the Blood of Zeus series and does end on a cliffhanger.

This is the first book of Angel and Meredith’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. This book was absolutely amazing! I was hooked from the very chapter. I loved the forbidden romance between Kara and her professor Maximus. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Heart of Fire to be released on December 22, 2020.

I would highly recommend this book if you love paranormal romances, mythology romances, romantic suspense, or just romance in general. It’s a must read!

This book was meh. I gave it 2 stars just for finishing it.

Given Kara and Zeus's life experiences and backgrounds, they were extremely naive. It's not like they lived sheltered lives.

The things that were glaring to the reader came as shocks to the characters. For example, Arden. How did Kara not see that coming?

For up to like up to 50% of the book was feeling like it was a slow burn but no, the book was just boring. There were only TWO smut scenes and they were lukewarm. Also, I hate the "untouched virgin" troupe.

I’m not sure where to start with this one. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it because it’s not a genre I prefer, but I adore both of these authors so I dove in. And I’m so glad I did.

Kara and Maximus have a pull that seems to defy biology, chemistry, rationality. It’s a forbidden romance of the otherworldly kind.

Remember, this is a cliffhanger.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book, but the further I got, the more I did. I read it in less than a day. It’s not very long, but I’ll keep reading the rest of the series. It reminds me of a modern take on Hercules and Meg. I love mythology and I love when people take the Gods and put them in a modern story. The writing and plot is kind of basic and simple, but that’s what also makes it a guilty pleasure. It kept me intrigued.

Would have been a lot better if there was any world building.

It served its purpose for me. I just finished an eight book series and wanted something to devour. It was easy to read and had its moments to keep you interested. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue the series or not.
