The main story gets one star. Illustrations aren't great - it's hard to tell who is who most of the time, and I didn't like the story. Zoe is not that vindictive as to cut off everyone's access to Emma. She's a badass, but she's also smart and understanding. I didn't like how it ended with loose ends in every story line. And I didn't like the rewrite of Mal's character and motivation.

The second story gets 5 stars. The Warrior and the Wind was awesome! Great art and I loved the style, colors, and feel. The way they changed Firefly into a fair tale was perfect, as was everyone's character. I would read a dozen more of these.

A direct continuation of "Leaves on the Wind", I liked it, is not extraordinary. Is a predictable straight story, however, if you're a fan is significant and very entertaining. Feels a lot like an episode of the show, especially the scenes between the main characters.
Probably would've been a very good episode but without the live action fights and charming actors, this simple story is just "good"

This volume was one of the better Serenity stories. I was able to pick up where I may have left off (there was a nice recap at the beginning). I really enjoy peering into their 'verse and following the story line of some of my favorite characters. It always makes me want to watch the show and movie again!
Can't wait for more!

It doesn't have the same weight that Leaves on the Wind did, but feels like another "episode" in the ongoing story just before things really escalate. Whether or not they do will be up to whoever handles the next volume. I just wish the wait wasn't so long between all of these.

God, I miss Firefly so much.

I love the idea that such a diverse group of people (personality-wise) can have conflict but ultimately get along and truly care about each other. So many other series try to do this and fail because the characters aren't actually different from each other. In Firefly all the characters have fundamentally different world views and they duke it out regularly. Nothing gets left unsaid and conflicts are resolved quickly because they confront every problem head on and they're very honest with each other about what they think. It's great. I can't get enough.

The art is a little confusing at points because it will be a close up of someone's face and I had to look to other frames for the collar of a shirt or something to tell me who's face it's supposed to be. A few times I just couldn't figure it out. There isn't a lot of consistency in face shape or other physical qualities, BUT there is a good amount of detail and I appreciate that.

I enjoyed revisiting the Firefly world, and again the characters don't disappoint, but the storyline failed to really grab me.
There are several unresolved threads by the end, setting up for another issue - but my googling reveals that, like the ill-fated original series, this one won't be completed :(
I'd advise considering the Firefly canon as completed by the movie Serenity - you get more emotional closure that way!
