You stupid. Bring diary. Lost it. Ugh. Haven't you thought about it being lost if you ever bring the diary to school? Like WHO does THAT?!! Yeah, right. The ever-omniscient Nikki Maxwell, that's who!

It was quite good as always. I really liked the fact that we get to see from Mackenzie's POV.

I really love this one.

Honestly, I really love the change of pace that comes with Mackenzie’s writing style. It is similar to Nikki’s, yet so utterly different that it is clearly distinguishable. The tone has clearly been changed as well as the pace, which I really enjoyed.

Furthermore, I loved getting to learn more about Mackenzie. She is really such a complex character and we usually only get to see one side of her in the way that Nikki perceives her. Getting a look into Mackenzie’s personal life really develops her character in a way that I don’t think would have otherwise been possible.

This book really allows the reader to connect with Mackenzie and see that there are two sides to every story. This much-needed insight into her life really shows so much about her character.

I actually wish that we got to spend more time with Mackenzie as I found her segment so interesting. I would totally be in favour of Rachel writing a spin-off series from Mackenzie’s point of view as I feel like that would be very entertaining as Mackenzie is savage and absolutely hilarious.

Speaking of hilarious; I loved Mackenzie’s humour. I think that it is so different to Nikki’s and something that I just get with. Her humour is a lot more snarky and sarcastic, which was such a breath of fresh air.

The only negative about this book is that plot-wise, it was slightly lacking. Not a whole lot actually happened in this one. Usually these books are formatted where it all leads up to one key event at the end of the book. And, although that happened, it wasn’t as dramatic as most of the other books in this series were.

In conclusion- more Mackenzie, please!

Finally had a Dork Diaries book in the library long enough to read one & see why all my students are so obsessed. I get it now! This book is written is exactly the same dramatic voice I used in all my diaries/notes all through grade school. It really feels like a young teenager's diary. Quick, easy to read. Pictures! Departs moral lessons without feeling preachy??? Like legit warns against cyber-bullying and teaches compassion, even for people who don't seem to deserve it. I will no longer mentally shake my head when girls walk out of the library when I tell them every book in the series is checked out. I *will* try to get more copies!!
