Funny, sweet and emotional! And with NYC as the background!

This is my 6th Christina Lauren book and it is just as great as the others.
I’m a sucker for a marriage of convenience trope, but I’m not so sure I would classify this one as that. For Calvin? Yes, totally. He didn’t even know Holland before everything happened. But Holland… well, she definitely wanted something more, even if subconsciously.
It did feel a little creepy in the beginning, but she cleverly explained away that her crush was for his talent, and she fell in love with his music first.
My only problem with this book is the fact it ends too soon. I really wish there was an epilogue or extra chapter, with them going out publicly and her as the wife, or maybe with a real marriage proposal. Anyway, it’s still a 5 stars for me.

I don't know how I feel about this one. I kinda disliked it in the beginning. It was just too much of an unrealistic mess and I hated the audiobook narrator's voice. However, as it progressed I really started to fall in love with Calvin and Holland and wanted them to work out. I was sad when the story ended. I had bonded to them. Things that bothered me: 1. The quick jump to marriage. Just couldn't believe it. 2. Holland's lack of self worth and confidence. 3. The drama/frustration that ensued because the characters couldn't just communicate with one another. 3.5 So much completely pointless back and forth anxiety which had you on a roller coaster of emotions all because they couldn't be direct with one another. So yeah, I don't know. I was gripping my seat at points and falling in love with them but also saw quite a few flaws with the story along the way.

So ridiculously fun!! I was totally in the mood for a fun romance and this completely fit the bill. It was also super sweet and a story about finding yourself when you feel like you're standing on the sidelines of your own life. It was relatable. I loved the characters, and I loved the romance. I loved the family aspect of things. This was a great distraction from Hell Week, but without further ado, I must return to studying :( farewell for now, goodreads.
