TW/ Tropes: sexual nature, age gap, fated mates

Mikalina is in search for something to compete her. She feels unfulfilled and tired of her life so she makes an impulsive decision to go to somewhere with a different language and by herself.

Ren as been in search for his mate for a long time. He is over three hundred years old. He has spent most of his time searching for her. He has been slowly losing hope of find her, especially seeing his brother falling into madness after not finding his mate.

Book was very short and cute. Mikalina and Ren are the wholesome couple you see at gatherings. Expected a short and cute book and that is what I got.

This book definitely moved at a quick pace, I wouldn’t have minded a little more buildup between Ren and Malinka (that’s why I gave it 4 stars) but I still enjoyed this book very much. The world Jenika Snow set up is what is keeping me coming back for more, it’s a dirty and dark themed supernatural story of fated mates. The spice was there definitely! And I liked how the next in the series trickled into this one. So, I am ready to find out what happens with Luca in book 2.

This book follows the story of Mikalina, American who feels called to move to a small ass town in Romania. She has no reason to really do it; she just feels called.

Once she moved there, she quickly meets Ren Lupineov, giant of a man who is very interested in her. Only Ren isn't a man, he's a Lycan (werewolf)...and Mikalina is his Linked Mate, aka soulmate.

This book was *really* fast-paced. I wanted more build up, more slow burn. But this is absolutely not a slow-burn romance/smut book. It's kind of like a forest fire: once there's a spark, the whole forest is burning. And that's just...not my type of romance, I guess.

Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the writing. There were some parts that just made me crack up, such as, "My tiny female wants this, and I'm eager to satiate her," and "Look at what I'm doing, I'm drinking your honey, letting all that sweetness drip down my throat." I mean, I know it's smut, but I just could not stop giggling.

Anyways, if you like fast-paced werewolf smut, this is the book for you. If you want no build up and character development, and just steamy scenes, it's for you. Wasn't for me, but that's ok.

It’s ok. The story felt a little flat and Mika didn’t seem that interesting to me. There wasn’t any real struggle or drama until the end of the book and that was the brother of Ren and his potential mate.

3/5 ⭐️!!
Really easy read. I read it as palette cleanser between the devils knight series. I needed something quick that would get me out of their world for awhile. The story progresses quickly which was fine for me. Imo I didnt care too much about the other characters and I’m not inclined to read the other books in the series. Maybe just to get out of slump. Don’t go into this book expecting to have new complex favorite characters. Spicy tho!!

oh boy....So I'm not sure where to start.

First off I have to give props to Jenika Snow for really hitting the Spice factor. This book was very spicy. it's a quick read and a pretty easy read and the reading went quick. With that being said that may have also been one of the main struggles of this book.

I did enjoy this book, however I have a few issues with it

First of all there really is no character development. I didn't find out anything interesting or important about the characters to make me really care whether or not these two fated mates got together or not. There was no development of the characters. I didn't know them so I didn't care too much about their story. The next issue was....there really wasn't a story. its almost like they author wanted to get straight to the spice and think of the story later. The sex scenes were pretty graphic which I didn't mind but reader beware. the author was very descriptive. I could really see what was happening and it was lovely. Last but not least there really wasn't any world building. I have no idea where i am, what year i'm in and why I am where I am.

All in all, if you are looking for a sexy book to get your engines going, with little to no story, then this book is for you.

Smut good- storyline not really believable

This was a pretty good book but the storyline was just not very believable. I mean she meets him and runs away then comes back then runs to play a sex game? Now I went into it looking for the smut scenes, the down and dirty intimate scenes, and this book totally delivered on that. I probably won’t read the next one but it was a very quick read as well. If you go in knowing that the storyline is a little out there and a little unbelievable then you are good! It is a mate story and those always defy the unbelievable!
