When I got this book in my Romance Reveal Book Box I wasn't sure what to think of it. It certainly wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting a bully romace. I was expecting a girl who was actually considered fat and ugly (as opposed to someone who just wore a wig,glasses and baggy clothes to appear that way) I wasn't expecting a happy ending. This is none of those. It is actually a twisted take on the ugly duckling. I loved Em and Carter's friendship/relationship. I love the idea of a guy getting to know a girl for who she is on the inside and no caring what is on the outside. The inside making the outside more beautiful. It's a great sentiment. I love that there was no cheating drama, no ex's getting in the way. It was about breaking down walls and building something real. The only thing that got in between them was the past but **spoilers*** they overcome that too.
