I really enjoyed the banter and the build up. I definitely got tired of the constant asking for permission for any sort of sexual contact -I get asking for consent but like...this just felt too much.
There are not any steamy scenes till like 75% of the way through which also is a bit TOO slow burn for me.
Looking forward to the next book!

This was a debut novel by Chelsea and it was such a fun, quick spicy read.
This had a lot going on, but the main tropes were enemies to lovers and fake dating. Jo, was our ambitious FMC and Jack, our resident grump. I enjoyed their back and forth banter and they really demonstrated the whole enemy aspect well

Where do I begin? This book was an absolute joy to read. Jack and Jo are just adorable and they have such amazing banter! Their relationship starts off strong with everyone’s drug of choice (grumpy/sunshine) but ends up giving ALLLLL the lovey-dovey feelings when our grump turns so completely sappy.
Josephine is headstrong and self aware and struggling but still kind hearted. Basically, she’s everything that I love about a good FMC. Jack is your typical closed off “I’m unlovable” guy who is content to be miserable and alone forever until he finally has a chance with our girl Jo. There’s representation of all kinds (OCD, mental health, therapy, child free couples - just to name a few), too! These characters are so relatable that I DARE you not to fall in love with them. It’s heartwarming and oh so hilarious. Also, Chelsea didn’t come to play with the spice on this one! Phew.

I’VE SAID IT ONCE I’LL SAY IT AGAIN. INDIE. AUTHORS. WRITE. SOME. OF. THE. BEST. BOOKS. I’VE. EVER. READ.
i have followed chelsea’s publishing and writing journey from the beginning, and this being her debut book was so special to me while i was reading it. there’s something so special about the way chelsea writes her characters, and the connection that she creates between them. jack and jo were TO DIE FOR and i don’t think i will ever be able to shut up about them and their relationship. the *slight* enemies to lovers was executed perfectly, and the fact that i didn’t have to re-read the first chapter before diving into this book because i still remember it from when i read it early last year, says all you need to know about chelsea’s memorable writing style and how she makes her characters and content so memorable. i have nothing but good things to say about this book, and i will recommend this to everyone until the day i die. overall an EASY 5/5⭐️

There were several things just off about this one. The pacing, for one. Somehow, everything happens way too fast and too slowly at the same time. The way that the MMC worships the FMC feels over-the-top and way too sudden.
I appreciate it when romcom books deal with mental health issues and resolving things through therapy, but the portrayal of OCD in this was just… no. It gets glossed over and called a quirk.
