I’m a sucker for lovers who have to sacrifice their love before they get to enjoy it, like the Claire and Jamie dynamic. This hit all the right notes. Valentin is such a sweetie.

I just really enjoyed this book...definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Still like the world Singh created for these books, the character depth is way better than typical and keeps improving.

DNF. At some point in reading this I kept thinking about Hawk and Sienna-so I stopped this and reread their book. Honestly have no desire to finish this. Eh.

A great shifter romance for anyone who is looking to scratch that itch. It’s fun, a little steamy, and filled with relationships. Definitely a read for anyone who wants to unwind over a weekend.

The plot follows a telepathic named Silver who begins an experimental relationship with a bear shifter named Valentin as a way to show peace between two factions. There is some bickering and banter and fun as the business arrangement becomes something more.

Silver and Valentin are a lot of fun together. They have great chemistry and banter. Since they have a previously established relationship, the romance moves quickly but never feels unnatural. The differences in their personalities makes for some fun scenes, though they hold their own when it comes to family drama.

There are some action scenes but they are light. There are subplots that speak to a larger storyline, but this serves as a good standalone.

The writing is good but there is a large amount of repetition with some phrases, to the point where it seemed excessive. That really was my largest complaint, since it was so prominent.

Still, I had fun reading this book and would recommend it to lovers of shifter romances.

Probably more like 3.5 - this is very satisfying in terms of how it connects characters and themes from the entire Psy Changling universe while being somewhat outside of it. I really like the bears and the story of the Mercant family but somehow the Silver in the story didn't feel coherent with the Silver who had been present in previous books but still a very pleasurable read.
