I didn't love this one like the first two books in the series. It felt like nothing significant happened until the closing pages of the book. Hoping book 4 is better.
Spoiler I found myself skimming over the numerous sex scenes. They feel repetitive at this point.

I love a good mystery and a good villain. The villain is the best character in the book in my opinion. If the story were mostly about the mystery, I probably would have rated it higher. I think one of the things that bothered me most about the book was the relationship between Raphael and Elena. Most of the time, they called each other by Consort and Archangel instead of their names. For two people that are supposed to be lovers and soul mates, this was difficult for me to hear. It made it sound like they were nothing more than acquaintances. Another thing that bothered me was Elena's attempt to dominate Raphael or to constantly push back. I don't think she knows how to pick and chose her battles. You can't fight on every single minute detail.

Ok, now about the rest of the story. I thought it was good and I liked that we saw a little bit of background into Bluebell's mother and to see more into his past. He and Dmitri and among the best characters in the book. We even learn more about Venom who is fascinating by himself too. This book seemed a little slower than the previous 2 books because there was a lot of background in the books and they talk about parallels to what happened in the past. Overall, a good book.

Each book in the Guild Hunter series just gets better.

In Archangels Consort we are still following Raphael and his newly made angel and consort, Elena.

Terrible storms and deadly weather have been taking place all over the world.

These extreme events are signs that an ancient is awakening.

This hits close to home for Raphael as the ancient awakening is his mother Caliane.  The only thing is, when Caliane went to sleep she was insane.  During her sleep, has her sanity been restored.

As well as the unstable weather, vampires are going into rages, Raphael included.

A child is murdered by a vampire at the same school that Elena’s half-sisters attend, and she knows the attack is aimed at her.  However, the murder isn't just a vampire in bloodlust.  Elena & Raphael need to find out who is behind the scenes and pulling the strings.

Elena does what she does best and starts tracking the vampire, but has bodyguards following her every step of the way.  Raphael knows she is getting stronger as an angel but is still over protective where his consort is concerned.

The scene near the end between Lijuan, the Archangel of China and Caliane.  The way Nalini describes things, you can picture every little detail.

We also got more from Raphael's seven.  My favourites are Bluebell (Illium), Dmitri, Venom and Jason.

I can't wait for their books and I have Archangels Blade (Dmitri's book) ready to go.

If you love urban fantasy, paranormal romance, compelling characters, amazing world building, passion, suspense, a pinch of horror (due to the murder scene descriptions), vampires and angels, then you need to read this series.
