viejo some really vivid and awful shit happens in this.

tbh no suelo get squirmy about violence en general pero idk why the violence and overall como cruelty in this was so effective.

I demand Philip Fracassi to rewrite this with a happy ending. I refuse to accept this. Respectfully, Peter deserved better. I'm sad

5 chilling stars to Boys in the Valley - an incredibly creepy and unique possession story that is almost cinematic in its telling.

This book is probably one of the scariest books I’ve read this year. Kids in horror can be tricky sometimes, but in this they are written perfectly and in some cases, terrifying as well.

The setting and atmosphere was so eerie and chill inducing-a Catholic boys orphanage in the middle of nowhere beset by an evil darkness and no one to save them. How could I resist such a tale? Possession stories scare me more than most other horror sub genres, either because I watched The Exorcist too young, or being a lapsed Catholic, but I keep going back to read more of them, and this one is a top favourite now!

I liked that we got different perspectives throughout as it gave the story a depth to it that made it a richer story overall. Peter and David were my favourites and knowing their inner struggles just endeared them more to me and really rooted them in my heart.

I don’t want to say much more, because honestly this book is so rich and full of (dark) surprises it’s best to go in as blind as possible. Once this story gets going it doesn’t slow down and it is graphic, but not gratuitous, dark and will punch you in the feels-in the way only a good horror story can.

I 100% recommend this to all horror lovers-it won’t disappoint and will deliver chills like few others have this year. A perfect spooky read for a snowy night.
