i saw some “lord of the flies” comparisons about this book and while i guess i can see some similarities (the relationship between boyhood, survival, and authority) i don’t think it’s like lord of the flies at all. lmao very good horror novel. i’m not sure if i really like the author’s writing style, sometimes it seems a bit choppy and simple but it makes up for it with very, very colorful descriptions of scenes and actions. definitely chilling!
