Definitely preferred the first book to this one. To be fair though this was basically a reskin of the first book. Not necessarily bad, but not good either. Also, for a book written by a woman, it was very patriarchal. The normalisation of men owning women is so prominent it's insane.

I liked Nash and Lina a lot more before I could read their thoughts.

Another amazing book from Lucy. Good guy x bad girl and found family. This book was the perfect pairing to the first in the Knockemout series. I loved how this book built and expanded upon the world Lucy built in Things We Never Got Over. This one focuses on allowing yourself to be vulnerable and realising that it doesn’t have to be seen as a weakness to share this with others and can actually make you stronger. About bringing yourself back from the depths of darkness. I loved that it followed the same formula as the first, set in the same world, building on the characters and the crime sub-plot continued and linked to the original but was still unique, with different mcs, tropes, and themes.
