Another great book in this series. This time it is Anders who finds his mate in Darcey. Anders is not the man we have been lead to believe and in this book we find out all his secrets. He is so much more than he appears. Darcey has been searching for her mate all her life, she never knew her biological family and grew up without the benefit of having shifters near her to teach her about herself. In this book she finds her mate and her family. There is so much pain and heartache in this story but also lots of love.

Blackstone Ranger Rogue by Alicia Montgomery is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tara Langella.

This is the forth book in the Blackstone Rangers series and can be read as a stand-alone. However, I would recommend reading in order since the books are interconnected.

This is the first series of Alicia’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. I absolutely loved the relationship that bloomed between Darcey and Anders.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Blackstone Ranger Guardian to be released on audio so I can get John and Dutchy story.

Tara did a great job on the narration. I liked that she used different/tones voices for each character. It really brought the story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances or romantic suspense.

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and it was really interesting getting to know Anders behind the mask that he puts on for the world. I loved Darcey and Anders together. It takes them quite a bit to get to where they need to be but it was a good journey for them. They have to deal with figuring out who they are and how to be true to themselves. There was plenty of action and intrigue to hold my attention. I really felt for both of the characters though Anders was a hard nut to crack at first. He comes off as this manwhore that just cares about partying and nothing else but that is very far from the truth. This story was also fun for me. It was entertaining and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Okay I’m officially obsessed with this series. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more!
We’ve only gotten to know Anders on a superficial level in the previous books, and it’s gradually revealed to us that there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye. He’s got a tragic backstory, which explains why he pushes people away and why everyone hates him so much. Darcey, on the other hand, is a complete sweetheart, and she’s spent the majority of her adult life searching for her mate. Alicia Montgomery is definitely the queen of the trope of opposites attracting. Darcey and Anders’s love story is incredibly compelling!
One thing I love about this series is that while it’s “fated mates”, the couples don’t get together immediately, for whatever reason. This book doesn’t disappoint on that front, and there are a lot of obstacles--these ones mental--keeping Darcey and Anders from professing their undying love.
We meet a new ranger in this book--Cam--who’s a reserved scientist who seemingly has no sense of humour. I’m looking forward to the Blackstone Ranger Scrooge, which will feature him!
As with the other books in this series, we get a sneak peek of who the couple will be in the next book. So, of course, I’ll be reading that one immediately.

When I read Sarah’s book, Blackstone Ranger Hero, I hoped we’d get Darcy’s book and here it is! She’s a swan shifter, so this was a first for me … not just the swan itself, but reading in the perspective of a non-predatory shifter. Interesting for sure. And let’s face it: interesting and different are hard to come by these days so kudos to Montgomery!

Darcy’s inner voice is distinctly different from that of other shifters I’ve read; it seems the author did a good job here. This installment brings a ton of drama and a few mysteries so it’s very fast-paced and a fun read. Will seek more from this author. Perfect listen for while I work.

4 stars.

Note:
I listened to the audiobook. Like the rest in this series so far, the narrator’s voice is smooth and pleasant. Hope to hear more from her. Really nice job with the different voices and accents as well, which enhanced the reader experience. A 4.5-star performance.
