👑 A Game of Thrones 👑 reread
(Featuring the bookmark I bought with it back in 2006 in that tiny bookstore in Hammersmith Broadway)
Let's get straight to it:
- A super fun read, full of deceit, treachery and betrayal
- Yes, it's epic and expansive but NOT AT ALL a difficult read; the narrative voice and language used is actually quite modern in tone and the chapters are nice and short.
(Honestly, The Mistborn Series is 'wordier')
- Yes, there are multiple POVs but it's not actually that difficult to figure out who is who as we're constantly provided with context.
- Sansa Stark is needs her neck wringing
- Arya is just as badass as I remember her
- Ned Stark, for all his valour and honour is freaking stupid
- Catelyn is actually pretty cruel
If you've toyed with the idea of reading this one, don't put it off for worry that it'll be too difficult- it's really not and once you get used to the POVs, you'll not be able to put it down!

The first hundred pages or so I kept having to refer to the appendix to remember who everyone was and how they were related. But once I got that down, I really enjoyed this! There was a lot of detail, but it still felt fast paced.

I first read this 2 years ago, but didn't finish it simple because the plot and the language was to complicated for me. This year i started over and finished the book. It was amazing! I am still amazed how George R. R. Martin came up with this Universe. I am looking so much forward to Reading the next book, even though it is even longer
