i can’t even be surprised when i love everything tjr writes, carrie soto was so good. however, i don’t care about tennis and this book just had too much of it. but carrie’s relationship with her dad was absolutely the highlight of this book, built for the girls with daddy issues fr

TJR is back with her best book since Daisy jones and the six. I loved reading about Carrie and her struggles of being a female athlete and trying to be the best. I’ve known many athletes like her (obviously not to her level), but similar personality and strong players. I liked seeing people make comments about her arrogance, her coldness and her having to learn to let people in. Carrie is not likeable, but she’s not supposed to be. It also doesn’t make you root for her less. I loved Nicky’s character as well. The relationship between Carrie and her dad was really well done
