Another Charlie Donlea book. Another great read! This is Rory’s story. An autistic forensic recintructionist sheds light on cold cases homicide detectives can’t figure out. Her father dies and a case falls into her lap that she has to handle. The man is up for parole but is charged with killing mean women in the late 70’s. What Rory finds out is a great twist! It is cleverly written. Enjoyed the two POV. One current and one back during the “thief’s” reign. The ending was satisfying. I enjoy and Donlea book. Never disappoints.

This was my first time reading something by this author, and I was not disappointed. The story unfolds from different characters' viewpoints and alternates between the late 70s/early 80s and the present. The twists were unexpected and the pace was good. I will definitely read another.

There were points of this where I reallllyyy enjoyed it and was already wanting to read the next one, but the ending fell really flat. It was predictable and unfulfilling. There was an ongoing mystery throughout that just never was finalized ?? I really liked Rory as a character until the end when I felt like they made her fall into that classic thriller character trope. I did like the different povs and found that compelling. Bummed cause it was really good for a while but the ending just ruined it for me ;(
