another 5 star read from riley

wow...another emotional, powerful read. there were times i thought 'enough is enough' with the gut-wrenching but it all worked out in the end.

i absolutely cannot wait for ben's story.

It has been a little bit since I first listened to this series but these characters are not easily forgotten.
I fell in love with them all over again. You see that just because book 1 ended doesn’t mean they rode off into the sunset and were blissfully happy.

They still struggle; Mateo is still haunted by his past and has his check-ins from his parole officer still. They like to mess with him and that riles Mateo up.

Tristan is struggling with wanting everyone to know they are his but his job and firm won’t accept him because Mateo is a convicted convict.

And Josiah is struggling to be the glue; he can’t always be that when they keep things from him.

I loved that even when they were all struggling they look to each other for help and guidance. It isn’t always easy but building a relationship that will last needs ups and downs.

I loved Jack’s narration I will be seeking him out because wow he was awesome.

★★★. Disappointed. This one was a case of the author telling but not making us feel. She kept telling us how “fucked up” the men were and maybe they were but it didn’t make you feel their pain. Why the author had to keep saying that, I don't know. It was just too forced in the book, it didn't flow. Plus , I don’t feel like new ground was covered in this installment, other than they are still trying to make the pieces fit. Tristan is bossy, Josiah runs and Mateo tries to feel worthy of them. I found Collide to flow much better than this Broken Pieces series. I hope Ben’s story is better than this one.

ağlayacaktım...
lan tristan içim gitti be.

I didn't enjoy this sequel as much as the first book. It seemed to just be the same stuff churning round and round in a whirlpool. The ending with Mateo and Javier didn't seem true to Javier's character. Glad that the guys did finally get their full circle but I am not invested enough in the story to read Ben's saga.
