So much of this volume was just everyone running over here, running over there, gun fights, tank fights, people looking for Akira, people double-crossing each other etc and it was getting a little tedious but good lord the last dozen or so pages are just incredible, it's amazing how powerful and honestly a little terrifying these black and white illustrations can be.

I was a bit confused as to who was fighting who and the politics of it all, but I enjoyed the story a lot more when I just assumed that no one should trust anyone else. The action scenes really flew by! I really enjoyed the new characters Sakaki, Mozu, and Miki, and I want to know more about their stories. The ending of this volume was also really good.
