Qué buena dibujante es Takeda. Phil Noto sólo me gustó en la última issue. Marjorie M. Liu es una genia.

Marjorie Liu bothers to let X-23 do things that are not simply "slashing everyone's throats out," and the result is her character actually seeming to fit into the Marvel universe for me. I consider her series a 3.5 star rating, and wish it could have continued.

It's....OVER?

Laura being a super awesome babysitter, going on a night out with Jubilee where she is recruited to the Avengers by Natasha Romanov and decides to join. Doing something for herself, what's best for her.

The best panels:

"Don't Look Back" is the third and final book in Marjorie Liu's run of X-23. Containing several smaller arcs (Adventures in Babysitting, Girls Night Out, and the wordless one shot Don't Look Back), the results are all entertaining with some seriously good artwork by Sana Takeda and Phil Noto. At the same time, even though I enjoyed this volume, I can't help but feel that it tends to draw attention to how unfocused Liu's run can feel at times. One moment, Laura's off in space dealing with The Collector, the next she's back in NYC dealing with the demons of her past. It's like they're not quite sure what they want to do with Laura. I wonder if that's part of the reason why the series was cancelled, which is a pity because it looks like things were about to get really interesting.

In conclusion, I'm glad I ended up reading Liu's run on X-23, but I'm also pretty glad I got them from the library. If you want a truly fabulous X-23 story, stick with Craig Kyle's Innocence Lost or Target X. Liu's run is certainly entertaining, but they're not must reads.
