This book was different than I imagined, and obviously being a novella it was quite short. But, it was Nick and Charlie, so nonetheless it get's 4 stars.
I thought it was about the fight that Nick and Charlie have later in Solitaire, and not the argument Charlie has with his mom, but that's my mistake for misremembering what they said in their journal entries in Vol 4. So I was prepared for it to be super sad, but it wasn't <i> that <i> sad. I teared up and got a little emotional at one point, but it didn't hit me too hard in the feels.
It was still a nice read and insight into what happened over Christmas, and I liked that we got to see Tori's point of view too.

I'm a fan of Heartstopper and this was my first time reading Alice's prose. I read it all in one sitting since it is a short book with a simple writing style (but the story is about some heavy topics concerning mental health, so it's not a easy read to everyone) . I really enjoy the change of writing style between characters chapters and how we dive in the lives of the Spring family and the relationships between them. I definitely recommend this book after reading heartstopper.

Review is about the 2020 version: I loved the split pov, there wasn't a lot of character development or diversity (other than sexuality) because it's short but the heartstopper universe all in all is very diverse with a lot of character development.

Content warning for version 2015: Graphic mention of self harm, moderate mention of eating disorder

Short story in the Heartstopper universe - I honestly liked this novella more than the previous one and I loved reading Tori’s pov. It’s really nice to see the sibling interactions with the spring sibs.

I love the heartstopper series and was excited to read this novella finally. It was a quick read and I loved getting a larger peek into the world of charlie. As always, I love Nick and Charlie's relationship and how Alice Oseman touches on harder topics with an uplifting view.

As the youngest child i would like to say Oliver's pov absolutely obliterated me, seeing my sisters grow up and move out leaving me "behind" has being the hardest thing to ever happen and i felt that coming for oliver and its really sad but also a part of life. To finish it of i will say that Alice Oseman is a mean woman who gets you hooked on silly little gay comic characters and then stabs you in the back with the most heart wrenching storylinea you will ever see.
