An emotional journey through grief, family bounds and love.
I loved Diana and Dallas, I loved how their relationship progressed and how he fits in Diana family with her two little boys. Out of all the books from Mariana Zapata, this one felt not as much as a slow burn, but it was stil such a good romance overall.

This book! This book is everything I needed. If you’re in the mood for a slow-burn romance between two well-developed characters, with open communication, very few misunderstandings and healthy expressions of affection, you’ll love this book.
Diana is a great heroine. We met her in “The Wall of Winnipeg and Me” as Van’s best friend. And she’s just as awesome here, handling adult situations with patience and intelligence. I loved her. Her relationship with the boys was so freaking sweet, it melts your heart.
Dallas was a great book boyfriend. He’s got his shit together, he knows what’s important and he speaks honestly. I loved him. Once he gets over his apprehension of Diana and starts bonding with her and the boys…man, his whole “it will be worth the wait” speech…ugh my heart. Just find me a Dallas, dammit.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite MZ books. It goes up there with “Kulti” and “All Rhodes lead here”. Just plain awesome.
Couple things I could have lived without or that weren’t developed as much as I would have hoped (and hence not a 5-star):
- Dallas’ relationship with Jackson
- Diana’s relationship with her mom
- I really wanted the boys to call Di “mom” at some point, for all intents and purposes, she was
- I didn’t need Dallas going to find Jeremy to beat him up- unnecessary

Cute little story about a single aunt with 2 boys and her divorced neighbor. Dallas was pretty cute but Diana I loved! She was real and raw and the whole plot was pretty good.

From the moment I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I went through two full charges in my Kindle and decided to give up on sleep just to finish this book. I couldn't stop myself.
I laughed. I cried. I ached for Diana and Dallas. I'm not usually a fan of slow-burn romance, but this one was perfect! I couldn't asked for anything better. Diana and Dallas needed the time to heal and get to know each other. But when they did, they were all in. Lou and J were super cute, especially Lou—I couldn't stop smiling at him.

This didn’t hit for me. Wait for it was waiting for anything to happen. This was slow burn to the extreme, even for MZ standards. Cute in theory, just not for me

I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard reading about a man hugging a woman
