This book was beautiful. I think everyone should read it because it truly gives perspective to so many different people’s experiences. I think my favourite character was Clara. She was always up to something and she was willing to reflect. There is a lot we can learn from her. The character I most connected to was Maisie. I have felt very similar things that she has and coped in similar ways. I find so much respect for her. It was a gorgeous novel.

Omg what a book. I never knew about the history of residential schools in Canada. This book broke my heart into a million little pieces. đź’”

I listened to this book and I think I maybe should’ve read it with my eyes. I struggled when the POVs changed sometimes. I also enjoyed some characters more than others, but this is a fairly solid, emotional book.

Emotional. Beautiful. Incredible. An absolute must read. While heart wrenching at times, Five Little Indians is a powerful and must-read novel to deepen an understanding of some lived experiences of Residential School survivors in Canada.
