West and Jasper were everything. I loved how they were so different but found things to have in common

I gave this series another shot after not loving book three, but Puck Drills & Quick Thrills didn’t really change my mind. The idea had potential, a former hockey pro coming home to take care of his orphaned siblings while coaching, but it just didn’t come together. Westly’s family situation mostly came off as a hassle instead of something meaningful, which made it hard to really connect with him.
Jasper’s character was all over the place. One minute he’s cold and standoffish, the next he’s warm and open, and it didn’t feel natural. The romance didn’t have much tension or payoff, and overall the story felt kind of flat.

I was SO annoyed by West and his whining about not being enough for his silblings but also him not seeking professional help or trying to change ANYTHING.
Also his relationship with Asher was worse again than in the end of Ashers book!? I thought Asher was valid for his crash out. Imagine your brother is in a relationship with the professor who almost failed you...that's a valid reason. Also West being a hypocrite with him giving Asher the silent treatment for 3 months after he f'ed Ezra but then saying that Asher throws a tantrum after he found out that his brother is seeing his professor? Nah Ashers reaction was reasonable!
I didn't see any tension, it was super fast paced and the time jumps were annoying af. Also West being so obsessed with Jasper out of the blue and even thinking about choosing him if he had to choose?! No
In Ashers book the family dynamic was interesting and you could tell that he loves his siblings, with West I'm not quite so sure.
I also didn't liked how Jasper was portrayed like a savior...that felt so weird to me
The best part of the book was when we got to see all the characters of the previous books😌👌🏻
"A man who puts his family first? Definitely, definitely, hot."
