This was my second book by Ms. Sutanto, and I thought Dial A for Aunties was solid, but I liked the writing style more in this one. I thought it was really creepy, and I was so incredibly stressed out by the mom's boyfriend. I did feel like
the ending was a little abrupt and kind of got the writer out of a tight bind, which was a bit unsatisfying.
I also wanted a little more info about the gal
who died from the drug thing.

Not my favorite by this author. Definitely no humor, but the plot was a lot more basic too. A YA version of “You”.

disclaimer if you’ve read other reviews by me and are noticing a pattern: You’re correct that I don’t really give starred reviews, I feel like a peasant and don’t like leaving them and most often, I will only leave them if I vehemently despised a book. I enjoy most books for what they are, & I extract lessons from them all. Everyone’s reading experiences are subjective, so I hope my reviews provide enough information to let you know if a book is for you or not, regardless if I add stars or not. Because one thing I had learned about predators is that there can only be one around. Lisa, Brandon, and Logan were all predators, in their own ways. And, as it turned out, so was I. Maybe Lisa sensed that I was a bit of a natural when it came to killing predators. That I was the snake after all. And maybe, just maybe, I liked it a little.

I did not know that Jesse wrote thrillers like this! For me, Jesse *does not miss* !!! Since I do not read premises, I had no idea what to expect going into this book. I was pleasantly surprised by these dark characters and storyline. The main character Delilah's half-Singaporean ethnicity does not play too much of a role in the storyline but I do think it's important in connection to Logan's first obsession, Sophie (and how much Delilah reminds him of her).

This book moves fast, and I know murder is wrong but I couldn't help but root for Delilah. She and her mom deserved better, especially from the police force that knew something was up with their fellow police officer Brandon.

I loved how quickly everything tied up in the end, and at the end of the day, I support women's rights but more importantly, I support women's wrongs. CRY ABOUT IT!

I actually DNF’d this book. I found it a bit too ridiculous and by chpt 7 I just didn’t care enough about the characters to continue reading.
