Because one thing I had learned about predators is that there can only be one around. Lisa, Brandon, and Logan were all predators, in their own ways. And, as it turned out, so was I. Maybe Lisa sensed that I was a bit of a natural when it came to killing predators. That I was the snake after all. And maybe, just maybe, I liked it a little.
I did not know that Jesse wrote thrillers like this! For me, Jesse *does not miss* !!! Since I do not read premises, I had no idea what to expect going into this book. I was pleasantly surprised by these dark characters and storyline. The main character Delilah's half-Singaporean ethnicity does not play too much of a role in the storyline but I do think it's important in connection to Logan's first obsession, Sophie (and how much Delilah reminds him of her).
This book moves fast, and I know murder is wrong but I couldn't help but root for Delilah. She and her mom deserved better, especially from the police force that knew something was up with their fellow police officer Brandon.
I loved how quickly everything tied up in the end, and at the end of the day, I support women's rights but more importantly, I support women's wrongs. CRY ABOUT IT!

<spoliers> She kills her mom's boyfriend after fantasizing about hurting him or fighting back or something so I thought that was the same thing? And the 'she was the drug dealer's thing was bull. There was almost nothing leading to that and it felt almost forced. Finally, the ending where she kills Logan was one of the only things that sort of made sense, but again, it only took like 2 pages to kill him. <spoilers>
