I felt like this could have been a pretty good book, if not for the main character and the horrible historical context. When I read the premise, I was intrigued. Plus, it's free on Kindle on Amazon, so why wouldn't I read it? However, I was still disappointed. Megan was annoying at best and cliched and intolerable at worse. The book gave more emphasis to meeting Franklin (and the ensuing romance) and Megan wanting to do something with her life than to any substantial plot. It felt slow-moving, and the book isn't even long to begin with. It felt as if everyone was a modern, shallow character. There was no delving into actual ancient Egyptian history, or even that of the wartime era Egypt. It seemed as if the author wanted to write this story and was like, "Where should I set this? Egypt? Well, I know nothing about Egypt except from watching The Mummy, but let's do it!"

The writing style isn't horrible. It's minimalistic in description, but it gets the message across. The premise is really interesting, it just didn't live up to my expectations.

Cliffhanger guaranteed

You should read this. Time travel always has so many rules. What would be the worse thing to happen? However it’s the ending that grabbed my attention much more than the beginning. It could just be the young Jamie causing trouble but I can’t wait to see where Jamie sends them next.
