okay uhm. wow. i watched the movie first and i know that books and movies are always different but i didn’t expect that different. i love the fact that
there was no happy ending for anyone. Lee didnt get his redemption and Kayla didnt get her brother and Maren didnt get her family or to me normal and all Marens victims didnt get to live their lives because of her
. the characters arent loveable, but you love them so much. i dont know.

I found this story in itself really interesting and the narrative voice easy to follow. The plot was predictable but I didn’t mind, I saw the first twist coming and the second twist felt inevitable from the moment the two characters met. Unlike other reviewers, I liked the ending a lot.

Finding out that the author is a passionate vegan and the story about cannibals is actually a meat-eating allegory… almost ruins the entire thing.
