It was such an engaging interesting read but the ending felt really dull and flat. I felt things didn't have to end happy but it just ended.

I found the characters flat and the metaphor ham-fisted.

For what the book was meant to do, it was a very good novel and well written.

I also consider myself a not-very-squirmy person when it comes to reading, I’ve been able to get through a lot of gore and even write some. Even I found myself horrified during parts of the book. Not for the faint hearted.

On a completely unrelated note, I kept mixing up the title with Not Even Bones(which in my opinion is a very similar book) and have made mashups such as Not All Bones.

Basically, I recommend it, but only if you’re ready to find yourself very concerned and horrified.

I really don't have that much to say about this book. I mean I liked the vibes and all and surprisingly even the characters, but I felt like there was no actual plot, it was just a roadtrip. The few "plottwists" were really predictable in my opinion. I actually expected more gore, but it didn't even have that it was just like "yes girl give us nothing at all". Same goes for the ending. I didn't hate it though, it was a nice short read, but nothing great.

watched the movie first, and liked it. it’s very rare that i like a movie & book adaptation about the same, but that’s how i feel with bones and all. getting more of maren’s backstory was very interesting! overall a decent read if you’re a fan of the whole ~cannibalism is a metaphor for love and desire~ thing.
