I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Despite being close to forty - I loved this book so much! This was by far my favourite YA sports novel for the year, with complex emotions and big topics covering family dynamics and friendships.

Violet has a lot of issues that I think most teenage girls has while navigating life, but is complicated with a 4 siblings, a absentee father who has re-entered her life and a friend who takes advantage of her goodness. Entering into her life is Penn - we all need a Penn in our life he is the perfect supportive boyfriend that Violet needs in her life.

Definitely a five star read for me.

This book was a sweet easy read.
A little bit of teenage drama and a little bit of first love.

I didn’t realise it was a high school romance going in but i still enjoyed it

This is the first book that I've read by the this author and it won't be the last. I really enjoyed this story and was hooked from the very first page. The story starts with Violet, a high school senior, who is dealing with a household of younger and annoying step-siblings, typical high school drama, and a bit of heartache left behind by an absentee father. I must say that I felt very connected to Violet's character and felt similar emotions as I was reading her story.

Of course, everything changes once she meets Penn, the hockey player from the school's rival team. Penn's character development truly shined throughout the storyline as he was the perfect romance interest for Violet. the romance between the two was very sweet and innocent, giving this story a nice but well-paced PG-13 rating. It would be great to see the two in future novels and possibly see how their college and adult careers panned out. If you like sweet high school romances, this would be a great addition to read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this. As I do everything Jennifer writes. And I say that in every review I write. But it’s true. Violet is such a great character. She loves science and uses said science to bake delicious treats for her family and friends. She seems closer to one of her sisters than the other and I would have liked to see this dynamic explored a little more. It’s easy to see her youngest sister is envious of Violet’s relationship with June.
Her friendships with Kara and Erica were night and day. I was glad when Violet finally stood up for herself.
Penn is a bit cute and probably the perfect distraction for Violet. He was easy going and sweet. Lived with his Nana and was pretty mature for 17/18.
Violet’s relationship with her stepfather Ryan was so beautiful to read. It’s refreshing to read a stepparent who isn’t a monster.

This is a great book to read in one sitting. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

I got an ARC of this book and I loved it. Penn and Violet just hit my feelings. Their love and care for the other is so sweet. Violet is such a great character. I was so pleased since it met all my expectations and went beyond <3. Thanks to the author and publisher
