This book was so eye opening. I never really thought about death in depth before, but this book really made me see death in a new light. Caitlin Doughty is a fantastic writer and explorer of death. I am so happy to have picked this book up to read.

How often do we think of our own mortality and what will happen to our bodies once we're dearly departed. Doughty takes readers on an insightful and intriguing journey across the world to experience mortality. She brings up a pivotal discussion on why it's so frequently hidden away (modern changes to funeral practices) in western culture and monetized (expensive caskets, etc), when there are many ways to perform death care that speaks to the beliefs and desires of each individual. A great read in a short book.
