This is another SB book I've read multiple times. I enjoyed the love story between Dodge and Carline, and I felt that the one between Berry and Ski was irrelevant. That said, the suspense was also interesting enough, but for me it was all about Dodge and Caroline.

Liked the character of Dodge, obviously and would have rated the book with 4 stars if the author had spared us the romantic involvement between Berry & Ski... so cliché.
Otherwise, liked the way the narration was constructed, with flashbacks helping us understand the (rather cliché too) relationship between Dodge and Catherine.

Tough Customer by Sandra Brown
Carolyn King calls upon him, Dodge Hambley again. Barre Malone's co worker wants to kill her and Dodge hopes he can save her.
Dodge Hambley is her father. Warren Stocks had killed and continues to follow her.
The story goes back in time to when Dodge was a street cop and he and his partner had been called to her house where her husband had beat her up.
Barre had another worker drop paperwork off and stay so they could finalize the report for Monday. They had gone for a swim in the pool, had wine with dinner and some things Dodge had noticed at the house didn't add up.
Many others get killed along the way that also didn't treat Warren good while working with him. He's got a vendetta out to kill her now and nobody will stand in his way.
Love all the investigative skills Dodge uses to solve this one along with the regular local cops.
Hot steamy sex scenes really round out this book. Problem is they are all confident the man died but that's not the case...

Probably would have been better if I didn't listen to the audiobook.

This book was a solid mystery/suspense read. The ending wasn't surprising to me, but I certainly enjoyed reading the book. I gave the book 3 stars because, although I honestly did like the book, it's not one that is going to stay with me or make me rush out to get more Sandra Brown books. There were only two things that really bothered me:
1) Very minor detail - one of the main characters was named ski (as in waterski) but I kept seeing it as a weird spelling for sky and had to remind myself throughout the book that it was ski and that was SO distracting. I would have preferred his name was Pete or something....
2) The other annoyance isn't the fault of the author AT all but the publisher. The quote the use on the front of the book is: "Sandra Brown shows that she's right up with the best of the boys." WHAT???? Seriously? What did they think this quote would achieve? Make a bunch of grizzled men pick up a Sandra Brown book? Yuck. I am offended. If this book wasn't a gift and I saw it in the store, I would have left it there!!!

Not a favorite. A book brought on vacation to fill time on a bus. It did that job, not much more.

I loved the story of Dodge and Caroline. I enjoyed the novel for the most part and there were some great twists and turns. I really hope this isn't the last Dodge novel.
