This book was SUMPTUOUS! I love a good Greek mythology re-telling, especially with a sapphic angle, and this story really took all the elements I already enjoyed about the psyche/eros myth and added so many layers of philosophizing on gender, sexuality, pleasure, independence, etc. So much of this book plays out in the nights between the two protagonists, and both their long, meandering conversations and the way that the author wrote their love scenes were so creative and I honestly could have read 200 more pages of the two of them talking & touching in the dark. There is quite a bit of discussion of sexual violence (Zeus is a character after all) so I wouldn't say this is a light-hearted read, but queer joy and the possibility of escape from a world of cis men are the themes that have stuck with me after finishing.
