The writing was strong yet soft. There were a lot more explicit (sex) scenes than expected.

I love how this genderbent take on the story of Psyche and Eros came through. The exploration of genderfluidity and what it all means was fascinating - but I do wish that Psyche was able to accept the fluidity of language in the same way. The prescribed meanings of husband and partnership seemed to be a big sticking point.

I enjoyed this book, and it had all the elements of something I would love but there was something missing for me. I’m not sure exactly why it didn’t come together for me, but I think it may partly be that there’s an insta love quality between the main characters misses out on some development opportunities.

pretty decent. it was more sexual than i thought it would be honestly. don't like miscommunication, but the prose was nice.

This is the first book where I stopped reading and stared at the wall for 10 minutes in silent evisceration at the climax of the book. I generally knew the story of Psyche and Eros so I knew it was coming but I still sat there aghast with my heart in pieces for these characters. I am in love with how the style of writing feels so ethereal and like I’m being told an ancient folktale straight from the source.
