Impressed. The comedy is always there in a Wallace book and he manages to slip in some humanity too. There's usually something a little heartbreaking but it's always a great story. Really liked it.

A wonderful read for anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s. Wallace hits dead on the essence of childhood friendships and the angst of growing older. Both hilarious and poignant.

Amazing book, another great read from Danny Wallace. There is a laugh at least every few lines, and lots of think about - especially if you have recently turned 30.

Loved it, as I expected I would. Danny Wallace is a great, inspirational author.

Brilliant excellent book about turning thirty and re-discovering old friends. Got so exciting I was really gunning for danny to complete his
mission by the end!

I read this some time ago... just as I was turning 30 myself (spoiler alert: this is what happens to the author/narrator in the story).
It is a fun book and full of heart. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it to anyone who is just about to stop being 'twenty-something'.
If I were to pair this book like a bottle wine with a meal... I think it would strike a harmony when read together with:

I really loved this; the premise is a really interesting one and it had everything in it to make it the perfect light read. Some bits did feel contrived, but that didn't detract from the book and I still thought it was fantastic.

4.5 stars, really. I enjoyed this one very much. For everyone who read or tried to read [b:Unfinished Business: One Man's Extraordinary Year of Trying to Do the Right Things|7950688|Unfinished Business One Man's Extraordinary Year of Trying to Do the Right Things|Lee Kravitz|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1275699181s/7950688.jpg|11566549] and found it too dry, this is your solution. I got a laugh out of every chapter, and I cheered for every reconnection. I must admit, I even shed a tear or two for Andy.
My only issue, and the only reason that this book is not getting the full five stars, is because I took forever to read it. It did not have the same "get off the couch and DO something!" effect that Unfinished Business had for me, and mostly because I read Friends Like These five pages at a time, every other day, on breaks at work. It's my fault that I can't give it five stars, but there it is.
Go read it. Find your Face-to-Facebook. And if, by the end, you don't believe that a friend is worth a flight, at least admit that a friend is worth the postage. Send him a copy of your favorite book. Start the conversation.
