this book was really long, but i enjoyed.

both hani and ishu are so lovable, even though ishu is prickly and hani is a push over.

hanis friends are so annoying, i would rather swallow a poster board than be in their presence.

hani let’s them walk all over her, and i feel so bad for her.

watching ishu try to be outgoing was literally painful. secondhand embarrassment can’t even begin to describe.

also the whole thing with hani hardly believing ishu about what happened with the cheating ??? dude wth. you cannot sit here and truly believe that ishu cheated off of that revolting thing you call a friend.

the downright racism displayed from the members of the school staff was so disappointing, yet not surprising.

loved ishus sister, she’s a savior.

This is one of the cutest books I've ever read! The whole enemies to lovers thing and the fake dating work so well and make it really enjoyable to read. Plus the representation in amazing. I loved learning a bit about South Asian culture and even though I'm not South asian, Hani and Ishu were still really relatable characters. Adiba Jaigirdar is an absolute genius! She combines a cute, light hearted relationship with more serious issues like racism, homophobia, islamophobia and toxic friendships making it a really fun and interesting read. Definitely one of my favourite books this year. The only criticism I have is that it left me feeling extremely jealous that I don't have girlfriend.

Theeee cutest YA sapphic romance. The fake dating was chefs kiss. I learned so much about Bengali culture! Ishu was a hard ass and kinda mean but I loved how principled she was. She was pretty firm in who/what she thought she wanted to be. Hani was very sweet and a bit of a pushover. I loved that she had a great relationship with her mom. The family dynamics in the book were really interesting but not overwhelming. I hated her friends and I’m actually not upset that there wasn’t further “clarity”. Same goes for Nik’s wedding. Essentially this a really fun and light read with cute dates and the importance of doing what YOU want
