This was such a cute book! Loved the story and diversity of the characters. Loved that it was about brown lgbtqia+ girls :)

adiba jaigirdar ily and your books. i feel like this touched on so much with brown queer girls in a white dominant society and the racism and homophobia they experience and also the sister and her relationship with her parents after deviating from their expectations and yet it was still such a fun story and very well told

Great narrators (yay, they're actually Irish this time!) for a sweet and relatable story. Hani's friends are the absolute worst.

Contains biphobia and Islamophobia, mostly oriented toward the main characters.

Adiba Jaigirdar has created two distinct voices in Hani and Ishu, whose personalities complement each other perfectly. Hani, a people pleaser who’s always trying to keep everyone happy, and Ishu, the driven academic star, couldn’t be more different.

The book handles the pressure to meet parental and cultural expectations, as well as navigating friendships that don’t help you. I appreciated the representation of bisexuality and how it explored Hani's struggles to come out and be understood, even with her friends. From their awkward fake-dating start to their soft moments as they grow closer, I was rooting for them the whole time.
