this book was adorable. hani and ishu were so cute together and i loved the representation and the way the author portrayed biphobia, racism and parental neglect felt so real.
i didn’t expect the book to delve into these topics but it was done so very well!
the only thing i didn’t LOVE was the way ishu was portrayed in the start, was sort of “i’m not like other girls” and felt a little cringey. but otherwise! great book, i loved it.

I really enjoyed this. I would say it's less a romance and more of a coming of age / finding yourself kind of book.
I really like Hani & Ishu and i especially liked all the conversations around Bengali culture, muslim culture, second generation immigrant pressures, being Asian in Ireland, dealing with stigma from 'friends' etc.
I will say the accents of the narrators are a little bit all over the place and i did have to google where it was set 😅 but overall this was a very cute and interesting book.

I really loved the two main characters, Hank and Ishu but I felt like the ending could have been better for the overarching story. There were still a lot of things left unsaid regarding Ishu’s family and Hani’s friends.
However this fake dating story was just the lighthearted book I needed and loved that these two ended up together for real. Such a good sapphic story.
