Loved loved loved loved loved this story. A totally unique twist on the "friends" to lovers trope.
I thought this was a good, quick read! The writing flowed well, and I liked Galen and Lacey together. Galen was a great H. He was tough, but caring. Lacey could have used a backbone. She let her fears get the better of her constantly, and I'm not really sure why she was that way. It was never explained why she was so scared of everything. Her mother was a shrew, and I really wish she would have stood up to her sooner. The ending was good, and I was happy to see them get their HEA. This was a first for me from this author, but I would read her again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Look, I am totally fine with finding my new husband in midst of getting freaking with it if it means that I get me some Galen Thomas! Is there a sign up sheet for him?
Anyways, loved this story in so many ways. I loved that Lacey always has the worst luck because it reminds me of me. I loved her best friend Cat who was ready to rip out some throats when Lacey stumbled on her newly wedded husband cheating on her. And last, but not least (at all) I loved Galen Thomas. He made this book perfect. Galen suggests that Lacey go on her honeymoon and he will follow for some R&R but he doesn't plan the feelings he starts to acquire.
But lets get to the meat of this story; Galen and Lacey together were beyond sexy! Their moments were hot because they were testing each other out; this relationship was completely new to them and slightly risque because she was married. It made it bad and bad equals dirty. We all know this. :)
The kicker for me was the end; the press meeting made my heart grow three times bigger (like the Grinch.)

Oh this book was just beautiful but not with the shit that she had to go through but the love...
Galen oh Galen. Lacey and Galen just made me so happy with their relationship. I realize that the book never really goes into depth about a lot of issues or past history with them but the story itself was wonderful. After Lacey's scum husband cheats on her with one of her best friends (ON THE SAME DAY OF HER WEDDING) her other best friend, Cat's older brother Galen, who Lacey just so happens to have had a crush on since she was a little girl, saves the day by taking her away from the wedding reception. A bottle of Jack Daniels and a dare later they are both in Puerto Rico enjoying her honeymoon. Lacey was always a sit back and observe life type of person, she was a people pleaser who never did anything eccentric or wild and she never stood up for herself. During the trip not only does she learn how to take control of her own life, she also has some of the best sex of her life, with none other than Galen. Of course life isn't always as simple as it seems especially when you are thousands of miles away from home where the people you know can't judge you so when reality strikes Lacey is left with a decision. Does she sit back and let the best thing that has ever happened to her walk out of her life? Or does stand up and fight for everything that she has ever wanted?
I liked this one but felt like it was more of a teaser than anything. Just skimmed the surface of these characters. Was a fun, quick read though. I would probably pick up more by the author in the future.
I rated this two stars because it didn't hold my attention, it's only 128 pages long yet I took almost an entire week to finish reading it.
I loved this one. Girl finds her hours old husband with one her bridesmaid in a supply closet. Girl's best friend's brother rescue hers and convinces her to take her honeymoon anyway to decompress. One thing leads to another and we have a hot romance on our hands.
Lacey was a character that you could instantly connect with. She's a woman that's always thought she wasn't good enough because of her overbearing mother. She's uptight and doesn't know how to let loose. You felt sorry for her not so much because of what happened at her wedding reception, but at how she's used by those closest to her to get what they want, no matter what it might cost Lacey.
Galen has always had a thing for Lacey, but she was always off limits because she was Cat's best friend. He did a very nobel thing by taking her away and getting her mind off the mess back home with the wedding. For that alone, he would have had huge points in my book. But Galen made Lacey comfortable with herself and finally learn how to have fun.
This was a really fun read. I always enjoy when childhood friends end up in a romance. You have the history with those characters that adds an element of fun and nostalgia to a budding romance. Lacey and Galen were no exception. Their drinking game of "I Never" was the best and demonstrated, right from the beginning, how perfect these two were for each other.
Definitely one I recommend picking up. I know I'll be eagerly waiting the next book in the series.
