This is my favourite Nihryst novella. It's really great how you gain insights in both Bri's childhood and young adult life.

In this short story we learn how Brienne became a member of Captain Lee's crew. Despite it being so short we get a good insight in her background and her personality. Liked it a lot!

Have you ever loved a series so much that you’re willing to read anything that takes place in that world to get your fix while waiting for the next book to come out? That’s where I’m at with The Nihryst. While waiting for the third book in the series to be released, Cait has been blessing us with these short stories that provide insight into the pirate crew. Plus, she’s working some serious cover magic, because this one is gorgeous!

Brienne’s backstory is full of action and heartache, love and angst. She’s been one of my favorite of the pirate crew from the moment she was introduced, and reading about her backstory firmly cemented her place in my heart. I’m in awe of her strength and her determination to do what she feels is right, but beware — this story isn’t for the faint of heart.
