{Men will never be ready for women like us and it is not our job to ready them.}

I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

This book was really good. I liked the world building and the author's writing.
I also enjoyed how the women in this book have power, know how to fight with their own weapons to survive. I really liked Almira! She showed everyone how a woman can be a leader and lead people! Her exchange with the king were really funny and good! I loved the tension between them!
Sanaa was also really an interesting character!
The only thing I didn't enjoy is that sometimes I felt like the pacing was really slow...
But, I really want to read the second book!!

This story hits even better, the second time around. I love rereading fantasy series and catching things I skipped over the first time around. Love love love this story always and forever.

Do you love adult fantasy books with badass female characters that are breaking sterotypes? If so, than you must read this book NOW! This is told from multiple POVs which Isabelle does an amazing job in weaving together all POVs as to not cause any confusion. Isabelle is breaking stereotypes and added so much representation with the characters. We have a Almira, determined to be Queen and Conqueror, and will not bow down to men that are in her way. The Queen’s Red Guard, badass female warriors that have sworn their lives to protect the queen. Now, King Alton, I had very mix feelings about him, however, his character developments is one of my favorites! There are so many great characters as well has characters that I absolutely hate! IYKYK

I am absolutely obsessed with this book! As a Fantasy girly, this was everything I needed in a book and more! I cannot wait till book 2!

So many favorites, but these were 🤌🏼 *Chefs kiss*:

👑"Men will never be ready for women like us, and it is not our job to ready them."

👑 “Perhaps we shouldn't attribute certain characteristics to men and women. We should allow each person to decide how they'd like to speak. Then we wouldn't analyze what is proper.”

Trigger Warnings(TW) -

** I would be mindful of the trigger warnings before reading.

I am sorry I waited so long to read this book. It was long but so good. I loved the women taking the lead and being in charge. The characters were so much fun and I liked them.
