You know, I really rather enjoyed this. As a teenage girl, it was a refreshing perspective on things and made me reminisce a lot about my early teen years. The novel was well thought out, quite captivating, and a pretty quick read. I finished in a few hours. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Theodore Boone has managed to do it again.

4,25⭐️, I really enjoyed reading this. It is a good quick read. However there are things that happened just way too quickly.
Also there were some things that were way too good. Like it doesn’t work like that. “I did something bad today (nothing serious just bad) and I realized something so tomorrow I am changing my whole life (as if I saw Jesus).”Doesn’t work like that. And okay I could understand if it happened once in the book, but it happened twice. Too people changing their lives from night to morning just like that because of 13-year pls child. I don’t think so.
I do however want to read the rest of these books. And yes it can be read as a stand-alone. It was really good except what I already said.

Okay so for ONCE I'm giving this a straight 4 star review. Still not quite my favorite writing style from Grisham but it was one that had good questions and different opinions raised about the scandal in the story and the outcome of it. I did like how he captured teenage boys and testing perfectly like for instance.....one of Theo's friends purposely missed most of the questions so he could be in the lower level and stay under the radar in high school and when he got his test scores results, let's just say he was pretty happy. But this one I'll admit I did actually enjoy reading. as usual it's a fast read and I love Theodore Boone the Kid Lawyer.

This one didn't seem as intense as some of the other books. Dealing with teachers changing test scores and whether they will be prosecuted or not... not super deep.

I loved the series but this book wasn't for me. I disliked the standardized testing scandal and some elements seemed unbelievable to me, as an educator. Yes, I know standardized testing is a part of school and some educators may impact the tests. This book didn't have the flair that books earlier in the season did. I really liked the first book and actually taught the novel to my English 7 students. I guess I've grown up and grown out of love with Theo.
