Reading this book, set in Seattle, made me feel like I was home. As someone who is in a constant state of missing home, I appreciated being able to follow this story around the cities I grew up in. The island they got married at, Whidbey, is just a ferry ride away and was one of my favorite getaway spots in high school. The park on mercer island is where we would spend our summer days by the lake. The little apartment in Capitol Hill with a view of the space needle so closely resembles the description of my sister's old apartment. I especially loved the description of the light Seattle rain that Enzo liked to walk through. It was a simple, sweet, and painful book with a nice happy ending. I had a very nice experience reading it and because of it, I have decided to be nicer to my dogs. Not that I am mean to them, I just don't really give them attention because I don't know how to.

It was interesting to read from Enzo’s perspective and hear his take on life and what happens around him. The racing aspect of the book was a little hard for me to get into, but from that came a lot of metaphors which I did find inspiring. Definitely a bit predictable but still a good read.

This was such a clever perspective....the story of a family thru its devoted dog's eyes.

The dog POV was lovely and this was a nice read overall - not the *amazing* one I was hoping for, though.
