Of all the books in this series, this one was my least favourite. Anita drives me up the wall, and if it wasn’t for the fact this is my best friend’s favourite series, I simply would not continue. Anita is such an unlikeable protagonist, she’s so obnoxious, rude, and full of herself and she does and says nothing that makes me want to root for her, like seriously nothing. My biggest pet peeve though was how LKH brought in sexual assault into this book and did a piss poor job of navigating the topic, and she made it super inconsequential like oh yes they were raped but whoops vampires, like no??! What the fuck?? Ahhh this book made me so angry, I’m glad it was an easy read cause asdfghjkl

These early books really hit differently as an adult...and not in a good way 😅

This book of all my rereads so far was much better in my mind. I enjoyed the character development a lit but there was just too much going on in the plot. It made the mystery not as easy to solve but it felt like that was because certain things didnt make sense.

I think it was the murder subplot. If ot had just been the teen turned vampire that would have bern okay, but there were so many elements.

Byt some Jean Claude backstory! Bath scene! Thats the goods
