Nope! Her collection of poems - 'Salt' is way better than this. These poems seemed quite disconnected and random. I repeat- Nayyirah Waheed's book, 'Salt' is waaay better. Read that instead lol.

Can you even really call this poetry? I mean there are obviously some amazing poems in this but it's more of a collection of beautiful snippets of writing and expertly turned phrases. Fantastic.

It feels more like snippets of writing than poetry itself.

Ok this might be an unpopular opinion, cause everybody loves this collection of poetry but for me this one was a bunch of poems (if u can call them poems) without sense.

Like being stitched whole from within
Again, a moving narrative of tenderness and pain and joy. Another richer view of African-American culture. I like her poem also describing her own work as a boundary, that she does not write to supply comfort. She makes the act of writing seem like an act of devotion.
