Same group of assholes, different land. I found myself loathing the laziness of the characters at first, but the story quickly picks up and takes you for quite a ride and leaves you wanting so much more by the end. Gross man does a great job of really breaking down what questing and adventuring really could be like behind the scenes. My favorite in the series so far!

I found this book a lot more enjoyable than the first one, Quentin was more likeably unlikable. This book also felt more whimsical than the first one and it really made Fillory interesting to read. I like how we got Julia's perspective and how she became to be a magician

I knew this one would get farther along into Julia's story. It was still Real Bad to listen to - they did it differently from the show, but anyway.

I think I'm going to take a break before getting into the next/last book in this series. If it still tracks the show, it's worth it. It's just a lot, all the way through.
