This was one of the best books I’ve ever read…I never could have guessed the ending of this book and I am SOO in love with this book. It’s perfect and I am truly in wonder that someone had the genius to think of this.

what the fuck. i’m so confused like it was alright for the first 90% but by the last chapter i was so confused did jake make this character of the girl??? and killed himself cause he felt alone? IM SORRY WHAT IS THIS😭😭😭 the way the author twisted it so much at the end got me all confused like okay so u went into an abondoned school’s closet to be alone and die there but made up this random girl’s story for “what if” this happens scenario like oh i liked that girl but was too scared cause i have intense social anxiety so i become a character, this book would have been great except the ending i am so confused.

Boof. This book was something else, an all-time favorite for sure. I could talk about it for days (quite literally, since that’s what happened when it wrapped up). I believe it’s labeled as a medium or slow paced read, however, I knocked this thing out in one afternoon (via audible). Would strongly recommend reading twice in a row, so you can go back and highlight the significance of previous scenes. Absolutely incredible.

most of the book takes place in this dudes psyche, and there’s a part where his alter ego (for lack of a better term) turns into a weird, creepy disfigured inhuman type of thing and like crab walks away. Almost quit reading because of that one scene.

Also apparently there’s a Netflix adaptation? Never seen it.

I finished reading this and I honestly didn’t know what to think. It left me with a head full of thought but also none at all, which was just weird! I’m unsure if it was predictable or really not!!! Just bizarre. I’ve rated it highly because the way tension, suspense and dread was created and woven through the narrative was incredible. I’ve also rated it highly because I have a feeling I’ll think about this book for a long time!

This whole book was anIoxymoron. I loved it even though I hated it. It terrified me but I wanted to keep reading. The ending was confusing but also made total sense.
