Beware of being too passionate about causes, esp lost causes like annoying telemarketers. Funny and deadly, wonderfully adventureous. Brought me to the natural beauty of the Everglades w/o a single bug bite!

Absolutely ridiculous, in a good way. Reminiscent of Vonnegut. Readable and fun.

Hiaasen's books are laugh-out-loud funny, with a gentle preachy undercurrent of environmentalism and protest for everything that has gone wrong with his native Florida. This story is no exception, and you will devour the pages waiting to see what fate awaits this motley cast of characters. There's also a interesting undercurrent of feminism in his stories, as most of the men are absolutely despicable creatures, and the main character is usually a strong willed woman. Hilarious, well written and always entertaining.

I really like Carl Hiaasen's books and his quirky, sometimes off-the-wall characters and how their plot lines bring them all to one central location.

This one really had a lot of crazy stuff going on and I chuckled outloud often at the antics!

Note: this was an Audible book and the narrator was terrific

I love Carl HIaasen...his books are always so great. Although this one isn't a part of the 'Skink' series, there were many similarities (eg. wacky environmentalist characters) which led to a very enjoyable, fun read.

This occasionally marginally entertaining, but mainly tedious book is simply a collection of ridiculous caricatures in increasingly ridiculous situations. Carl Hiaasen should be ashamed of himself for having written this schlock.

It gets two stars because I was able to finish the book but I think I'm done with Hiaasen and his formula. The first few books were fun but by Nature Girl, I could identify the plot path of each character in the first sentence as well as tell when he was get on a soapbox for a few pages. What a shame.

Loved it. Hiaasen really gets into the head of each characters, and is particularly sharp with Honey. A great read!
