Overall I give this book 3.5 stars. I read the audiobook alongside the paperback for this one and I didnt love the audiobook so maybe that contributed but a very cute book. The chronic illness representation was really nice to see something other than the perfect skinny blonde MC. I did tear up at the end at Reds letter because if THAT wasnt the cutest thing!!!! The spice was very enjoyable but not as much as other reviews made it seem.

I loved every moment in this book.
Chloe Brown almost dies and as she is in shock, she finds out that her life is boring. So she decides to change that.
She gets a list and in that list she makes it her mission to accomplish things. Red becomes the accomplice and soon they are all lovey dovey.

I love their relationship. They bring out the fun in each other and for some reason it made me think of Hometown Chachacha in Netflix. The whole time I was reading this I kept on thinking, this would be a really cheesy movie scene. Their growing relationship was gradual and nothing sudden which I appreciated. Not to mention the flirting via emails..lol

Red is an artist at night and a superintendent by day. He was so sweet, lovely and caring. I like that he was able to recognise his mistakes and work on them. He was prejudiced due to his past relationship but the more I scrolled the pages the more I loved him.

Chloe was so likeable and enjoyable. As a reader I understood her motivations and how she went about things. The way she spoke about things in her life made me understand her.

Spoiler

I only had issues with the third act conflict because while I understood where each of them were coming from maybe it could have bewn handled differently but I got the epilogue and I can't compain.

I feel like the second act conflict felt a bit rushed in its resolution, which took away some of enjoyment I had so far. I'm also not the biggest fan of explicit sex scenes on books, less so in audiobook form (': but that one was my own fault for going in blind.
Overall I'd say it was a fun read; I like the author's sense of humor a lot and loved the way it dealt with a disabled MC without making it the only topic of the book nor the opposite of magically healing her. Will probably be reading the rest of the series.

I'm not someone who reads a lot of romance because it's usually so predictable and cliche, however, I really enjoyed Get a Life, Chloe Brown. I didn't know it was a romance when I started it so when it got to the sexual parts I was a little startled because boy oh boy it is VERY sexual.

I wasn't sure to rate 3 or 4 stars but decided on 4 stars. I didn't love it but I don't think that's the book's fault -I have never loved a romance novel.

This is why I recommend it (if you like romance)...

1. The characters are so endearing! I couldn't put the book down once I started it because I was rooting for Chloe and Red. They are both so sweet in their own ways and I enjoyed their development throughout the story. At times I was a little concerned they were both a bit codependent and that turned me off a bit but Talia did a really good job of showing ups and downs of a relationship.

2. The diversity in the book is what made me start it. I liked that the main character is a black woman with a disability. It's easy for me to say I've never read another book about a black woman with fibromyalgia. We need more diversity in contemporary fiction! So I loved this.

3. At first the sexual parts made me uncomfortable but like I said before, I didn't know to expect them. However, once I accepted I was in for a romantic ride, I enjoyed it! The book is smokin' hot.

Overall, I recommend it! Get a Life, Chloe Brown is a fun easy read.
