I wanted to like this more than I did, unfortunately. I enjoy a good Jane Austen retelling, but this didn't have any sparkle to make it worthwhile. Check out my full review at Forever Young Adult.

I feel somewhat underwhelmed with this book. I want more sexy scenes in a romance. I really enjoyed the flashbacks and the current day settings. I love the idea of this story. I just want more "now" romance between Ruby and Ethan. I just feel like the ending was really rushed and they just fell back together. I would have liked better build up of their new relationship.

This very mediocre retelling of Austen's Persuasion can be likened to a Hallmark movie with profanity.

3 stars! Didn't like main character or the love interest.
The main character Ruby has lived in New York for ten years and hates it, but doesn't do anything about it. She pretends that living in New York is the best thing ever even though she hates her job and felt lonely, ends up drinking two bottles of wine every night. The relationship between Ruby and Ethan is so boring. They love each other so much but Ruby can't tell him she hates New York??? ok...
The story line is interesting and I like how both characters realize they have been living their lives the way others expect them to and decided to spend more time doing things they love.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I actually think I would have liked it better if this no-chemistry couple went their separate ways
