I really like the story but the pace is painfully slow. I wish the story were told in half the time. I’m very curious to learn how everything resolves but I’m kind of dreading the time commitment to get through the second book.

I didn’t dislike the romance but I did wish it was more of a slowburn.

The main character was kind of annoying, especially when the romance finally kicked in.

The book was really pretty and I enjoyed it but at the same time I wish Maia's relationship didn't take up as much of the second half as it did, however the action was still somewhat there!! The shift towards romance meant that the pace slowed down a whole lot, which was fine.

HOWEVER THE WORLDBUILDING????? SO SO GOOD!!!
